Immigrant Outreach Crisis Response (IOCR)

With the IOCR project, we ensure refugees and immigrants access culturally appropriate and language-specific crisis response, intervention, and follow-up services where they feel safe. We also reduce unnecessary arrests, CPS involvement, and/or Form 10s (when admission may not be an effective crisis intervention), and this project reduces the frequency of refugees’ and immigrants’ interactions with CPS, the Criminal Justice System, and Child and Family Services.

Our IOCR provides trauma-informed and safe urgent mental health and psychosocial response, intervention, stabilization, and consultation. We have been collaborating with the City of Calgary to provide these services.
